The Sacred place of Silent Minds is the latest from my exploration of the Flower of Life geometry using various hand made and artisanal papers from around the world. In this exquisite work I have used a delicate green Japanese tissue over a beautiful large piece of hand made paper from Moulin de Larroque. I don’t feel right about putting marks ON these papers so I cut, burn, fold, bend to achieve the desired sculptural form. In this work, the top layer of Japanese paper has been infused with bees wax from a wild bee hive. The leaf shapes are made from feathers that are waxed between two layers of tissues, some have 24ct ‘moon gold’ leaf, the edges burned. Various gemstones, and casuarina roots peep from underneaththe scale like forms. This is a major work that is available for purchase either online or direct from my studio.
